Follow along with the lesson plans for this residency: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/106KW6fk3xkB0YwvZDn01Q2O3sLNumjUz A native of Staten Island, NY, Mr. Ron developed a love for the visual arts very early in his life. His high school had a progressive view of the arts with an expansive set of art classes to experience. Ron graduated from Pratt Institute summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communications Design / Illustration. He’s worked as a freelance illustrator for clients from all areas of popular media since 1975. After intensive arts education training, he’s been working as a teaching artist since 2008, recently on the rosters of Arts For All and several other non-profit organizations. He has residency experience with students of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, and abilities and focuses on enjoyable visual arts projects with his students in a safe and creative environment in order to allow each student the opportunity to tell their own unique story in their own distinct way. This video is apart of AFA's Artistic Residency Program, which has moved to being virtual this year due to COVID. Through our Artistic Residency Program, AFA’s professional artists teach music, theater, dance, visual art, poetry and film workshops to under-served children aged 4-19. AFA partners with public schools and community organizations lacking funding for arts programming. We work with the needs of our partnering organizations to provide arts programs for the length of time, age groups and artistic disciplines they request. This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council. About Arts For All: Arts For All’s mission is to offer accessible artistic opportunities to children in the New York City area who face socio-economic, physical, or emotional barriers to exploring the arts.
