        2010 FALL Children's Show
"Stories – Live and In Person"

    The Internet has been around for decades, television and movies have been around for a century, but live theatre has been around for thousands of years, and will be around forever! Stories – Live and In Person is a show made of three different stories, which can only be told live, in front of an audience of kids who are ready for a great time full of laughs!

    Story #1: A little girl in the audience of a Great Play performed by a Great Actor shows that she doesn’t know how to behave properly at a play – she is a Great Nuisance who must learn how to act!
    Story #2: A criminal mastermind tries to convince the audience that they can be rich and famous using his five-step plan, and they shouldn’t listen to a quirky old lady’s story, which tells something else about his plan – something dastardly!
    Story #3: Two brilliant scientists fight for possession of a book which holds the secrets of space and time, and they enlist the audience to decide who wins the book - only to discover the real secret is the importance of sharing.

    These silly, clever stories, each with a lesson for kids, can only be told live, so kids can feel the electricity of being in the same room as the actors! Stories – Live and In Person is about the importance of seeing, hearing, and feeling fun theatre!

TRY FOR TODAY
Children With Disabilities Create Original Show
April 17th at 3:30pm
Chelsea Studios, 151 West 26th Street
The Creative Works program, lead by artists Desiree Waters and Andrew Ronan, is currently running at New Alternatives for Children (NAC). NAC is an organization that works with children in the 5 boroughs with medical disabilities and/or chronic illness and their families.

This year's piece is titled "Try For Today" and takes a look at a day in the life of these young artists, from sun up to sun down. They have written about the obstacles they face, the moments they dread and the moments they enjoy. The performance will take place on April 17th, at Chelsea Studios, 151 West 26th Street, 6th floor, at 3:30pm. Admission is free.

Creative Works is made possible in part with public funds from the Fund for Creative Communities, supported by the New York State Council on the Arts and administered by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
